National Clean Air Day 2024

It’s that time of year again! Since 2017 National Clean Air Day has been focusing the attention of both the public and politicians on issues relating to air pollution in the UK. 

Promoted by the charity Global Action Plan, this year’s event aims to gather the nation’s signatures on a petition to whoever the newly-elected Prime Minister will be after the votes are counted in July. The petition’s message? To ask the government to commit to action on air pollution within 100 days of the new government coming into power.

“To: The newly-elected Prime Minister,

We are asking you to commit to action on air pollution within 100 days of a new government, so that every person in the UK has the opportunity to breathe cleaner air for their health and wellbeing while co-benefitting our economy and environment.”
